Our Mission

Water Security for Every Kenyan

To deliver professional, licensed, and affordable borehole drilling and water access services that empower individuals, communities, and businesses across Kenya to achieve water independence — regardless of location or budget.

🔭
Our Vision

A Water-Secure Kenya, County by County

To be Kenya's most trusted water access company — the first name every property owner, farmer, and institution calls when they need a reliable, long-term water solution. From Turkana to Mombasa, we envision a nation where no community suffers water scarcity.

💡
Our Approach

Science First. People Always.

Every project begins with data — our hydrogeologists survey first and drill second, giving clients the highest possible chance of striking productive water. We then back every project with full regulatory compliance, transparent pricing, and flexible payment plans.

Our Story

Born from a Real Problem. Built on Real Solutions.

Nano Hydro Ltd was founded in Nairobi in 2010 by a team of Kenyan hydrogeologists and civil engineers who saw — first hand — the water access crisis facing millions of Kenyans. Unreliable municipal supply, expensive water trucking, and inadequate infrastructure were not abstract policy problems; they were the daily reality for homes, farms, schools, and businesses across the country.

The founding vision was simple: make professional borehole drilling accessible to every Kenyan, in every county, at a price that works. That vision led to the creation of our Lipa Pole Pole instalment financing plan — one of the first in Kenya's drilling industry — which has since enabled hundreds of families and businesses to own their water source without needing full upfront capital.

Today, Nano Hydron operates across all 47 counties of Kenya with a fleet of modern DTH drilling rigs, a team of licensed hydrogeologists and engineers, and a track record of over 500 completed borehole projects. We remain headquartered in Nairobi at Nyaku House, Hurlingham — but our work is felt from Turkana to the Coast, Busia to Mandera.

🔬

Science-led drilling: Every project begins with a hydrogeological survey — we never drill blind. Our survey success rate exceeds 95%, meaning virtually every client strikes productive water.

💳

Lipa Pole Pole financing: We pioneered instalment-based borehole financing in Kenya. Start with 50% deposit — your water flows while you pay the balance at your own pace.

🌍

Truly nationwide: Our field teams are deployed across all 47 counties, including Kenya's most remote ASAL (arid and semi-arid) regions where water access matters most.

What Drives Us

Our Core Values

🎯
Scientific Integrity

We survey before we drill. Every recommendation we make is backed by geophysical data, field testing, and professional hydrogeological analysis — never guesswork. We would rather advise against drilling on a site than take your money and fail.

🤝
Transparency & Trust

Fixed quotes. No hidden charges. Formal written agreements on every project. We believe the water industry deserves the same professional standards as any other engineering discipline — and we hold ourselves to that standard every single day.

🌍
Equity of Access

Water is not a luxury. Our Lipa Pole Pole plan, competitive pricing, and willingness to work in Kenya's most remote counties is a deliberate commitment to making water security accessible — not just to those who can afford to pay in full on day one.

⚙️
Technical Excellence

We invest in modern DTH drilling equipment, continuous staff training, and rigorous quality control on every project. Our engineers hold professional qualifications and our operations meet or exceed all Kenyan regulatory standards for water well construction.

🛡️
Regulatory Compliance

Full NEMA and WRMA licensing is non-negotiable. We handle all permits on behalf of our clients because we understand that a properly licensed borehole protects not just the environment — it protects the client's investment for decades.

🌱
Environmental Stewardship

Groundwater is a shared, finite resource. We conduct thorough environmental impact assessments, recommend sustainable abstraction rates, and design every project to protect aquifer health for future generations — not just the current water user.
